The Gare du Nord becomes a nightclub for one night only
Opt for a stay in the Hotel Sophie Germain and not only will you be delighted with our hospitality and the comfort of our establishment, but due to our extensive knowledge of Paris, you will discover many different aspects of the capital. For example, did you know that the Gare du Nord, Europe’s busiest railway station, is to become a nightclub for a single evening?
The music festival invades the North Station
It’s unprecedented! A true first! July 11th, 2015, is the date to mark on your calendar if you like to party because on that evening and into the morning of the next day the Gare du Nord, a 150 year old railway station and one of the iconic buildings of Paris, will resound to the sound of 3,000 pairs of dancing feet! For the first time in its history, the Gare du Nord will serve a completely different function. For one night the trains will stop rolling as music loving partygoers colonise this cavernous building from 22:30 to 5:30 in the morning, turning the place into a giant nightclub. Nearly 4000 m2 of floor space will be available for dancing and 3 bars for refreshments will be set up on the station forecourt.
The party atmosphere will be ensured by a line-up of 12 top international DJs, including Cut Killer, DJ Mum's, Aazar, Vincent Vega and MyMy. And when you think nightclub, you also think VIP lounge. Here, too, the Silence Events agency, in partnership with France’s national rail provider, the SNCF, has everything planned; a VIP area will be installed in the mezzanine leading to the Eurostar platform.
So we have an original location, a huge dance floor, and top DJs in attendance…what other innovation can be included to make this a night to remember? Well, how about making it a silent disco? Upon arrival, revellers will be given wireless headsets with which they can receive the high frequency music transmission. They will then have the opportunity to choose what they wish to listen and dance to from three channels offering three styles of music from three different DJs. Thus, it will be possible to go from hip-hop to funk or electro at the touch of a finger and there will be no music leaking out of the building to disturb the neighbourhood.
It will be an exceptional evening. You can dance through the night and also meet fellow revellers whom you might not otherwise encounter, forging new friendships and increasing the fun. This will be more user friendly than conventional clubs because you’ll actually be able to hold a conversation without shouting! This celebration of dance culture is a truly unique event offering an experience you will always remember.
The full programme can now be viewed online. Presales have been available since the beginning of this month on the specialised site Digitick.
