Paris dresses for the summer
The Cité Florale: a neighbourhood in the 13th for you to discover
For a romantic late spring stroll in a charming Parisian neighbourhood, the Cité Florale can’t be beaten! As picturesque and colourful as the name implies, this comparatively little-known part of the capital boasts coquettish houses in pastel hues set along six cobbled streets, all of which bear the name of a flower. This privileged multicultural environment is one of plant pots, tangled vines, window boxes, verdant terraces and small flower-filled squares where the art of living is celebrated. You’ll also find an important selection of Street Art. The Cité Florale is easily reached via the Rue Brillat-Savarin (near the Place de Rungis) and the Rue des Orchidées.
The Paris Summer Sales
From Wednesday, June 28th to August 8th, 2017, you won’t be able to resist a visit to the great Parisian department stores to enjoy the bargains offered in the Summer Sales. For the occasion, prestigious brands (Galeries Lafayette, Printemps Haussman...) and designer boutiques offer a wide range of items for replenishing your wardrobe, including accessories! If you’re planning a weekend of shopping in Paris, opt for luxurious comfort by booking a room at the Hotel Sophie-Germain, the ideal choice.
Urban relaxation with a seaside feel: Paris Plage
From July 20th until August 21st, Paris Plage (Paris Beach) transforms parts of the city into urban seaside resorts. These are the George-Pompidou Expressway (1st and 4th arrondissements), the square of the Hôtel-de-Ville (4th) and the Bassin de la Villette (19th). This year, there will also be other temporary beaches set up in the 14th and 20th arrondissements of the city. If you plan to visit Paris during the summer, you’ll have a great time on these sandy beaches by the Seine, equipped with sun shades and deckchairs. Every day, amidst a fun and festive atmosphere, cultural events and sports activities are organised for everyone.
