Dancing at Rock en Seine and feasting at the Fête de la Gastronomie

Rock en Seine , big musical event

August 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2015 are significant dates for rock music fans as they herald the coming of one of Europe’s greatest music festivals, Rock en Seine. It takes place in the lovely surroundings of the Parc de Saint-Cloud, on the outskirts of Paris. Established in 2003, this festival stands today as one of the most excitedly anticipated musical events of the French summer.

Since its birth, Rock en Seine has grown into a giant. On August 27th, 2003, there were two stages and ten acts to entertain the attendees. Such was the first year’s success that one year later, the organisers extended the duration to two days, and invited twice the number of performers. The festival also began to accommodate other art forms with Rock en Clips, a selection of the best rock clips of the year; Rock en Strophes, a rock songwriting competition and Rockfolio, an open air gallery exhibiting fifty photos by Claude Gassian. In 2005, the festival site expanded again to allow room for the installation of a third stage. A campsite was also established for the first time. In 2007, the festival moved to three days and now, four years later, five stages are planned to accommodate performers from around the world.

This incredible level of success is due to a number of factors, including an outstanding location, a family friendly ambience and, of course, the bringing together of the best performers on the international scene. The 2015 edition will welcome iconic names from pop, electro and rock such as The Libertines, The Chemical Brothers, Fauve, Interpol, Jungle, Shamir, Wolf Alice, Kasabian and Étienne Daho.

Rock en Seine has always made a great effort to be a family event, with parents and children encouraged to attend. The young ones will be made particularly welcome, however, from 16: 00 to 22:30 on the Friday and Saturday of the event and 15:00 to 21:30 on the Sunday, when they can participate in various workshops and storytelling sessions.

Fête de la Gastronomie , major gourmet festival

From September 25th to 27th the latest and possibly greatest edition so far of the Fête de la Gastronomie will be held. This major national and international gourmet festival will invite you with friendliness and generosity to taste local specialities and products. For three days, you can participate in various ambitious and festive culinary events such as public banquets, picnics, special menus in restaurants, wine tasting and visits to businesses and farms. Numerous exhibitions, demonstrations and street entertainment are also provided during this exceptional festival.
